Two teams eager to banish the memory of opening day defeats clash at the New York Stadium on Saturday as Rotherham host Crewe in League Two. Both sides suffered identical 2-1 losses last weekend, leaving them with zero points and a goal difference of -1. This fixture offers an early chance for either to kickstart their campaign and avoid an unwanted winless streak.
Rotherham, despite their home advantage, will need to tighten up defensively, having conceded two goals in their single outing. The Millers will be looking to their attacking players to provide the spark that was missing in their previous match, converting chances into crucial goals. Crewe, similarly, will be focusing on shoring up their backline while seeking to exploit any vulnerabilities in the Rotherham defence. This match promises to be a tight affair, with both managers demanding a reaction from their respective squads. Expect a cagey opening as both teams prioritise not conceding, before potentially opening up as the game progresses. The first goal could prove decisive.
