AFCON: Angola vs Zimbabwe Prediction 25/12/25

Betting on Winner
Both these sides lost tight opening matches by 2 goals to 1 against the two group favourites, Egypt and South Africa. Angola were battling well, having gone behind and got it back to 1 all before losing to a 79th-minute goal to South Africa. Zimbabwe will feel particularly hard done by having led for nearly an hour before Egypt equalised. They then saw Mo Salah smash in a 91st-minute winner. Those results will mean it’s going to be vital for either team to try and ensure they win this one to keep their hopes of qualification alive. Angola have a squad that is based all around the world. They have many European-based players in defence and attack, and they have a pretty solid side, although the midfield can be the weak link for them. They managed 6 draws in a very tough World Cup Qualifying group that included surprise winners Cape Verde, Cameroon and a surprisingly tough-to-beat team in Libya. They made AFCON with 4 wins and 2 draws. Zimbabwe are also not heading to the World Cup next year. They qualified for this tournament by finishing group runners-up to Cameroon with 2 wins, 3 draws and a loss, just edging out Kenya. Most of their squad is based in England (though mainly championship sides) and domestically. They have made some progress recently in footballing terms, but are a nation that, despite being well known for their cricketing skills, have always seemed to underperform in footballing terms. This game for me is one that Angola should win, they look stronger than the Zimbabweans and have a really solid defensive unit. With odds at 1.82 it’s worth taking that punt on what may well be a nervy low-scoring match between two teams who need a result.
