For yet another season, Brentford are pushing beyond their theoretical ceiling and remain one of the pleasant surprises of the Premier League. They are the perfect example of the saying “the team makes the players”, as every year they sell key players and come back even stronger. They currently sit in 7th place in the standings and are in the hunt for a European spot. Last week, they lost 2-0 away to Chelsea, but proved they are in very good form, keeping their opponent in a passive role for long periods. They had a 4-1-0 record in their previous five league matches. Up to a point, this was expected.

Nottingham could not repeat last season. Few, however, expected them to be involved in the relegation battle. Managerial changes have not helped, and the boost they received with the old school Sean Dyche on the bench proved to be temporary. In the Premier League they have lost four of their last six matches, while in between they were knocked out of the Cup by Wrexham. Midweek they lost 1-0 in Portugal to Braga, using many regular starters, and next Thursday they have another Europa League match, at home against Ferencvaros.

I believe we can trust Brentford for a bet on the final result. They are clearly the better drilled team, extremely strong at home (7-3-1 record in the league), and look capable of exploiting the fatigue and tactical issues of their opponent.
