How We Prepare Our Cricket Predictions?

Whichever sport you like to bet on, it’s important that you take the time to analyse every aspect that can have an impact on how a cricket match might play out. For our cricket predictions, we consider many different aspects, such as team form, player form, pitch conditions, team selection, player availability and head to head records. In addition, we examine each set of odds, as well as markets, to help you find betting value.

Finding value is an important factor in successful cricket betting. We consider the odds, looking to find the edge over the bookmaker. Any factor that might influence the outcome of our bets is thoroughly researched, ensuring that our wagers stand the best possible chance of being successful.

  • Updated Data and Statistics
We are always striving to increase and improve our knowledge of cricket and the tournaments and competitions that take place all over the world. This involves focusing on player selection, both internationally and domestically, team form and head to head records to name just three. Weather conditions can also seriously impact a cricket match, affecting the pitch and the movement of the ball. We check weather reports before and during a game, particularly for Test matches which can last five days. For instance, if the weather is damp, this is excellent conditions for swing bowlers, who can move the ball of the seam hoping to nick an edge off the batter, a good aspect to think about for Method of Dismissal bets. Or, if the weather is hot, this tends to favour the batting team, so the Total Runs market or a Player to Make a Century bet might be worth considering. With player selection, we look at who’s in form and which batters have struggled in recent times. With bowlers, we look at which style of bowler has been picked to play. Most Test teams, for example, will include at least one spinner - this is especially important when we’re looking for value in the Total Runs market or Method of Dismissal. Once we’ve analysed and evaluated this information we can then begin to develop our cricket predictions and tips.
  • Player Performance
As we’ve touched upon, player performance is another important factor we consider when planning our cricket tips. We look at a batter’s form, thinking about in particular how many runs they’ve scored in recent games and what types of bowlers they’ve excelled against. For example, a batter might have performed well against seamers, but struggled against spin. So, if their next game is in India, for instance, where pitches there are built for spinners, they might struggle to get runs or keep their wicket. Similarly, we look at a bowler's form. We consider how many wickets they’ve taken in recent games, how many runs they’ve gone for and the types of pitches they tend to bowl well on. In addition, we take into consideration the format. A player might have performed well in recent Test matches, but might struggle in the shorter forms of the game, such as a T20 international.

  • Odds Analysis and Value Bets
Finding value in bookmaker odds is one of the key aspects of successful betting. We try to find the edge over the bookie, using our knowledge and research to find prices that are longer than they possibly should be. This is why research is so important, to help us find those value bets where a betting site might have failed to pay interest to. It’s also important to consider a variety of markets. Our cricket predictions aren’t just based on the Match Winner market. In addition to this popular choice, our tipsters base their predictions on other markets like Total Runs Over/Under, Highest Run Scorer and Team To Score The Most Sixes. We recommend you take a look at all types of markets. Often, you can find greater betting value than a simple Match Winner bet.

Our cricket experts put a huge amount of thought and analysis into their predictions. Every aspect is carefully considered to make sure we’re providing you with high quality tips that stand a good chance of success.

Cricket Tournaments We Cover

There’s a huge range of cricket tournaments and competitions taking place throughout the sporting year. Matches are held in many different countries, meaning there’s pretty much always the opportunity to bet on cricket.

Our predictions cover a myriad of tournaments, from major international events like the Cricket World Cup and the Ashes, to domestic tournaments such as the Indian Premier League and The Hundred.

In addition to the Men’s game, you’ll find predictions on Women’s international and domestic cricket too. Women’s cricket is one of the fastest growing sports worldwide and as such, you’ll find odds at an increasing number of betting sites. The Women’s game is also a great place to find value, if you conduct your research properly you’re likely to find plenty of opportunities to find the edge over the bookmaker.

While we cover a range of cricket events, the most popular tournaments consist of the following:

Cricket World Cup

The ICC (International Cricket Council) Cricket World Cup is held every four years. This tournament is played in a 50 Over format, and features 14 countries. Founded in 1975, the Cricket World Cup remains one of the most popular tournaments in the One-Day game, alongside the 20 Over version of cricket. The next Cricket World Cup will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in 2027.

Indian Premier League

The IPL has revolutionised the 20 Over format of the game. The richest domestic league in the world, the Indian Premier League consistently features the world’s best players and most famous names. The IPL is held every year, usually between the months of March and May. The next edition begins in March 2026, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning their first title in 2025.

The Ashes

Arguably the most prestigious and biggest Test Match events is the Ashes. Held every two years, the Ashes began life in 1882. The Ashes features five Tests between England and Australia, with the host country alternating each Series. The next Ashes is due to begin in November 2025. Australia retained the Ashes after a drawn Series in 2023.

The Hundred

The Hundred caused a little controversy when it was first introduced in 2021. It’s the only cricket tournament in the world that features 100 balls bowled per innings. It’s organised by the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and held in ten cities across those two countries. In the Men’s game, Oval Invincibles won the latest edition in 2025, with Northern Superchargers winning the Women’s Hundred competition.

T20 World Cup

The 20 Over version of the game has attracted a huge number of spectators to the sport who enjoy the shorter form of the game. The T20 World Cup is the biggest international event in this version. Held every two years, India won the last edition in 2024, beating South Africa by just 7 runs.

Women’s World Cup

Women’s cricket has become hugely popular in recent years. The Women’s World Cup is arguably the biggest event in the women’s game, broadcast worldwide. The tournament is held every four years, with the next edition due to begin at the end of September 2025. Australia are the current Champions, winning in 2022, with that particular tournament delayed due to COVID.

Bet Types and Markets in our Cricket Predictions

The best betting sites for cricket offer a vast range of markets. With the number of markets available, this gives us plenty of opportunities to find value bets.

While there’s plenty of choice of cricket betting markets, the most popular tend to include the following:

Outright Winner Bets

Betting on the Outright Winner of a cricket tournament or competition is an incredibly popular form of betting. Outright Winner odds tend to be available well in advance of the start of the tournament and throughout. As such, Outright odds can fluctuate dramatically, so it’s important to assess whether a team’s odds will shorten or lengthen as the start of the tournament approaches.

Match Winner Bets

For individual matches, the Match Winner bet is typically the most common market. As with an Outright bet, odds can fluctuate quite a bit depending on player selection, weather conditions and other factors. The draw is often available at many sites, which might be worth considering if the weather looks like it will halt play, but otherwise it’s an extremely rare occurrence.

Top Runscorer Bets

Betting on the Top Runscorer in a match can be difficult to judge correctly, which is why odds tend to be relatively long compared to other cricket markets. With this bet, you’re betting on which player, from either side, will score the most runs in the match. There are variations of this market too, such as Team of Top Runscorer.

Top Wicket Taker Bets

Another market that can feature reasonably long odds is the Top Wicket Taker market. With this bet, you’re placing a wager on which bowler, from either side, will take the most wickets in the match. For this market, it’s particularly important to consider weather conditions, as these can play a huge part in how a ball swings or spins, therefore potentially making it easier to determine which type of bowler is likely to be successful. Again, there are variations of this market, such as Team of Top Wicket Taker.

Predictions for Other Sports

FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions

  • đź’ˇ What is the most popular cricket tournament to bet on?

There are so many hugely popular tournaments and competitions in cricket that this is a hard question to answer. Events such as the Ashes, Cricket World Cup, IPL and T20 World Cup are all extremely popular with viewers and bettors alike.

  • đź’ˇ What is the best way to bet on cricket?

If you’re new to betting on cricket, we’d suggest starting with the most common, and often simplest, markets, such as an Outright Winner or Match Result bet. Make sure to research your bet, and we’d suggest starting with small stakes.

  • đź’ˇ Why do odds change before a match?

There can be many reasons why cricket odds fluctuate. Player injury, change in weather conditions, player selection and betting volume can all be reasons why a bookie will shorten or lengthen their odds.

  • đź’ˇ How can I predict cricket matches more accurately?

To stand the best chance of accuracy and success, it’s important you do your research into every aspect that can have an impact on the outcome or events in a match.

  • đź’ˇ How do weather conditions affect a cricket match?

Weather affects cricket matches more than most other sports. The change in temperature, humidity and wind speed can all hugely impact the way the ball moves when bowled and how the ball moves off the seam. Generally, the more a ball moves in the air, the higher the likelihood the batter will make a mistake or misjudge the flight of the ball and lose their wicket. Harsher weather conditions, such as heavy rain, can also stop play.

  • đź’ˇ Should I follow one cricket tipster or multiple?

We recommend you follow more than one tipster so you can gather a range of opinions and predictions, and their reasoning for their tips.
