Free Golf Predictions for Today

Below, you’ll find our latest golf predictions and tips provided by our experts for upcoming tours and matches. All tips have been prepared by thoroughly researching a number of factors, including player form, course information, potential weather conditions and putting accuracy.

How We Prepare Our Golf Predictions

No matter which sport or event you’re betting on, it’s crucial that you put work into your research. There are many factors that can affect the outcome of a tour, match play or round. For every golf tip our experts provide, we think about a number of aspects. In particular, we research a golfer’s recent form, the type of course they’re playing on and a golfer’s history and that or similar courses, recent statistics such as putting accuracy and potential weather conditions.

On a wider scale, we analyse the quality of odds available from bookmakers. One of the keys to successful betting is to find odds that present value to us. By researching our bets, we can often find the edge over the betting site by spotting odds that are longer than they potentially should be.

  • Updated Data and Statistics

Researching golf statistics is incredibly important for our golf betting predictions and tips. We constantly strive to improve our knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of the game, along with keeping up to date with the latest results and individual golfer statistics.

In particular, we look at putting accuracy, par scores in recent matches, how accurate long hitters have been and how accurate short hitters have performed. We then compare this information with the golf course they’re due to play on next - some courses are better suited to specific types of golfers than others.

Once we’ve collated all of this information, we can then begin to develop our golf tips.

  • Golfer Performance

A golfer’s recent form can go a long way in assessing how well they might perform on their next tour or match. Golf is a sport where players in good form tend to continue that during the course of a season, but for a player in bad form it can be very difficult to find a rhythm.

In addition, we look at which golfers have made it to the final stages of recent tours and matches, which players have stood a chance of winning towards the end of a match. If they were there or thereabouts, the likelihood of them performing well in their next outing increases.

  • Odds Analysis and Value Bets

As we touched upon earlier, finding value is one of the keys to successful betting. We look to find the edge over the bookmaker, that is, finding odds that are longer than what they potentially should be. How we find these odds is down to our thorough research, finding information that can pinpoint where a successful bet may lie.

Often, we can find greater betting value in more exotic markets than a simple Match Winner bet. Markets such as To Lead After Three Holes, To Win Hole and Correct Score can present more value than standard golf bets.

Golf Tournaments We Cover

There’s a vast range of golf tours and tournaments taking place all year round. This means there are plenty of opportunities to bet on golf and find value. Our experts provide their tips and predictions on major and minor golf tours and events throughout the year to help you choose your bets wisely.

Some of the most popular golf tours and events include the Ryder Cup, a Match Play tournament between the USA and Europe which takes place every two years; the Solheim Cup, which is the Women’s equivalent of the Ryder Cup and again takes place biannually; and The Players’ Championship, a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) tour, which is a Stroke Play tournament held each year.

The biggest events in golf, though, are the Major Championships, consisting of the Masters Tournament, PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open Championship.

🏆 Masters Tournament

The Masters is the first major tournament each year. Founded in 1934, this event features a relatively small number of golfers, certainly compared to other majors. Typically, this event features up to 100 golfers. In 2025, 95 golfers took part in the Masters.

The Masters takes place at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. It is a Par-72 course, with a length of 7,555 yards.

The current champion is Rory McIlroy, who beat Justin Rose in a Sudden Death play-off in 2025.

🏆 PGA Championship

The PGA Championship is a stroke-play event held in different locations each year. It’s now played in May, becoming the second Major of the golf calendar.

The 2025 edition was held in Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Scottie Scheffler won the event, winning by five strokes.

The 2026 PGA Championship will begin on May 11th, with Aronimink Golf Club, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania its venue.

🏆 US Open

Founded in 1895, the US Open is the third Major of the golf calendar. It also has the biggest prize fund of all the Majors, currently standing at around $21 million. A stroke-play event, it’s held at various locations. In 2025, the event was played at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. J.J Spaun, with a score of 1 Under Par, claimed his first Major title.

The 2026 edition will be held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.

🏆 The Open Championship

The oldest golf tournament in the world, the Open Championship was first held in 1860. The fourth Major of the year, the Open Championship takes place each July. It’s a stroke-play tournament, taking place at various locations in Britain and Northern Ireland.

The 2025 edition was held at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Country Antrim, Northern Ireland. The winner was Scottie Scheffler, who won by four strokes.

The next edition will be held in July 2026, at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England.

Bet Types and Markets in our Golf Predictions

As golf is one of the most popular sports worldwide, most betting sites offer a plethora of odds and markets on both major and minor tournaments and events. There’s lots of opportunities to find value, especially with the sports’ biggest competitions.

While there’s usually a good range of markets to choose from, the most popular golf betting markets include the following.

🏆 Outright Winner Bets

The simplest way to bet on a golf tournament or event is to bet on which golfer you think will win it. Outright odds are usually available well in advance of the tournament start, meaning you can analyse a player’s performances in the run up to the event to help you assess the odds and take note of any fluctuations before the tournament start date.

⚖️ Each Way Bets

Another popular bet is the Each Way bet. With this market, if your selection doesn’t win you can still make profit, albeit at lower odds.

The number of places available Each Way depends on how many golfers are taking part in the selected event. Typically, certainly for major tournaments, the top 8 to 10 places are eligible for an Each Way bet.

⛳ To Lead After Bets

To Lead After bet can offer great value. If you’re thinking about betting on a golfer who tends to start well but fade towards the end of a tournament, this market might be a good choice. There are variations of this market, but generally you’ll find options like To Lead After 3 Holes and To Lead After 6 Holes.

🔟 Top Ten Finish Bets

Betting on the Outright Winner of a tournament might be one of the simplest ways to bet on golf, but it can also be one of the most difficult to call correctly. With a Top Ten Finish bet, you’re betting on a golfer to finish anywhere in the Top Ten come the end of the tournament. Odds on this market tend to be much shorter than an Outright Winner bet, but gives you a better chance of placing a successful bet.

🤝 Head to Head Bets

In many golf tournaments, golfers are paired up. A Head-to-Head bet allows you to bet on which player will win their specific head to head battle, regardless of the overall winner of the event.

How are golf rankings decided?

Golf rankings are decided by a players’ performance in Single tournaments over a two year period. Team events, or Paired events, do not count towards a players ranking.

The number of tours and tournaments that dictate a golfer’s ranking can vary. Typically, though, around 400 tournaments count towards the ranking system.

When a player performs well in eligible tournaments, finishing in the higher places, they will receive points. These points depend on the quality of the tournament and the rankings of each golfer taking part, with the Majors containing the highest number of rankings points.

A good ranking is imperative for golfers, as they can determine whether a player gets invited to selected tournaments. Rankings are calculated every week, and as such the positions of each golfer can alter wildly after good, or bad, performances.

Who is the best Golfer in the World right now?

It’s hard to say definitively who the best golfer is at this current moment. If we judge by the rankings, Scottie Scheffler ended 2024 ranked Number 1. Scheffler also spent the most number of weeks ranked as Number 1 in that same year, as well as earning more rankings points than any other golfer in 2024.

In the women’s game, Jeeno Thitikul is the Number 1 in the world at the time of writing. However, Nelly Korda was top of the rankings this year also, with Lilia Vu in top spot in 2024. The previous year also saw two golfers spend time at the top of the rankings, with Vu and Yin Ruoning sharing time at the top of the table.

FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions

  • 💡 What is the best way to bet on golf?

There are many different markets to choose from at most golf betting sites. If you’re new to betting on the sport, we suggest you start with the simplest markets, such as Outright Winner or Top Ten Finish.

  • 💡 How important is player form in golf?

The current form of a golfer can play a huge part in their potential success or failure in the next event. Golfers who perform well in one tournament tend to do well over the rest of the year. It can be difficult for a golfer to find their form quickly if their performances are lacking.

  • 💡 How can I predict golf tournaments more accurately?

The key to betting successfully is to conduct your research. Of course, this doesn’t mean you’ll definitely win a bet, but what it does do is give you a better chance of spotting bets that have a higher potential to win.

  • 💡 Do rankings matter in golf betting?

Golf rankings, in both the Men’s and the Women’s game, are calculated weekly, so they can go a long way in seeing which golfers are enjoying good recent form.

  • 💡 What’s a value bet in golf betting?

A value bet essentially is where the odds on a bet are longer than what they potentially should be. In other words, the chances of a golfer winning an event or finishing in the Top Ten are greater than what a bookmaker’s odds suggest they are.

  • 💡 Why do golf odds change before a tournament?

Odds can fluctuate dramatically in the lead up to a golf tournament. If a golfer has had a poor tournament recently, or has a slight injury, this could impact their odds on performing well at the next event.
