Sweden Allsvenskan: Halmstad vs Degerfors 12/04/2026

Halmstad start another season with the sole goal of staying in the top division. Once again bookmakers list them among relegation favorites but with home advantage, seriousness and good defensive organization, they aim to survive again.

After two qualifications they exited the Cup losing 2-1 away to stronger Malmo. In the league opener they lost 2-1 to AIK in Stockholm, showing two completely different faces. In the first half they risked humiliation and were lucky to trail only 1-0, but in the second half they were much better, equalized, pushed for victory and conceded in the last ten minutes. They finished with 1,51 xG and 7 shots on target.

Degerfors are a team of similar quality and targets. Last year they finished 13th (two places below Halmstad) just one point above the relegation playoff. In theory they enter the new season strengthened but early signs show they still need work. In the opener they were disappointing. They lost 3-0 at home to Sirius and raised concerns.

Home advantage and performances so far give Halmstad an edge. Bookmakers released a balanced set allowing us to take the zero asian handicap.
