Premier League: Liverpool vs Wolves Prediction 26/12/2025

Betting on Scorer
Just as Liverpool had put together a run of solid performances and started to resemble last season’s team, a series of setbacks followed that will significantly complicate matters in the coming period. The saga surrounding Mohamed Salah has been temporarily resolved with his departure to the Africa Cup of Nations, but that is only one of several issues facing head coach Arne Slot. The squad is currently severely weakened by a large number of injuries and absences, with the latest—and biggest—blow being the injury to Alexander Isak. The club’s most expensive summer signing suffered a serious leg injury in the match against Tottenham, ironically while scoring a goal, and is expected to be sidelined for at least two months.
In these circumstances, the only out-and-out striker left at Slot’s disposal is Hugo Ekitiké. Although he arrived at the club amid significant investment, the Frenchman somewhat flew under the radar compared to other summer signings, yet he has shown the most on the pitch. He has scored eight goals since the start of the season despite limited minutes, and now has an ideal opportunity to further improve his numbers.
The opponent is Wolves, whose defense has been by far the weakest in the league. Their defensive issues are massive, and it is hard to determine which aspect of their defending is worse. In such an environment, Ekitiké should have more than enough chances, and I expect him to once again showcase his attacking potential in front of the home crowd.
