Betting on Goals
Well, considering the transformation that Michael Carrick pulled off at Manchester United at the weekend, were Boro wrong to get rid of him after a couple of failed promotion campaigns? Wel to be fair they have changed managers again since that happened too! They are sitting in a good position at the moment with the coach Kim Hellberg getting the team into a strong position and them looking like big contenders to pinch the 2nd place promotion spot this season behind the unstoppable Coventry. They have got themselves out of a pit of a rough Christmas where they picked up just one point from 12 and have been back in fine form last two games. They hammered Southampton 4-0 and beat West Brom 3-2 away as well showing form back in front of goal. They will be looking to keep that going at home against Preston. Preston North End are in the playoff mix themselves, but in mixed form. They have 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses from the last 6. They have been scoring pretty regularly, hitting the back of the net in four of them. They did lose surprisingly to Wigan at home in the FA Cup, albeit with a slightly weakened side. This game is basically going to see two teams battling for a promotion place and they will both be fired up for this one, with it being as good as a six-pointer. With that in my mind, I think that this one is going to see a few goals in it, and I like the over 3.5 goals bet thatβs on offer. Both sides have enough quality to hit the net a couple of times as well.
