Free NBA Predictions for Today

Below, you’ll find our latest NBA betting tips and predictions for upcoming games. Each tip has been carefully prepared and analysed to ensure we’re providing you with the best quality predictions. Alongside the tip itself, you’ll find a detailed explanation on how we developed our prediction and the factors that have led us to choosing that prediction.

How We Prepare Our NBA Predictions

When we build our NBA tips, there are a variety of factors we take into consideration. We research and study every detail that can have an impact on how an NBA game might play out. We focus on player and team form, player statistics, head to head records and the importance of the fixture for both teams.

Along with researching the fixture itself, we also scour betting sites to find the best value bets. That is another focal point of our NBA betting tips - finding value in the odds to maximise our potential profit.

    Updated Data and Statistics

When we develop our NBA predictions, we research the latest team and player statistics. In particular, we look at Points Scored, Assists and 3-Pointers, along with Rebounds, Steals and Blocks. By studying this data, we’re in a better position to judge how the next NBA fixture might unfold, like how a specific team or player is likely to perform and how many points are likely to be scored.

Once this information is collected, we begin to build our NBA tips.

    Player Performance

Talking of player performance, this is a key aspect we consider when building our tips. We pay particular attention to the Leaders in points scoring, assists made and 3-Pointers made for attacking players, and the stats for rebounds, steals and blocks for defensive players. Studying a player’s recent form can be a good indicator of how they’re likely to perform in their next fixture.

    Odds Analysis and Value Bets

Finding value bets is another key to successful NBA betting. Our experts research betting sites in order to find those bets that offer the most value. That is, bets which stand a better chance of betting successful than the bookmaker believes them to be.

Key Basketball Stats To Consider

  • Points Per Game Differential - Measures an NBA team’s scoring margin. If a team scores more than their opponents, this is a positive differential. A team that concedes more than their opponents has a negative differential.
  • Pace (Possessions Per Game) - Measures how many possessions per game an NBA side has, which in turn gives us their playing tempo.
  • Field Goal Percentage - Measures how many field goals a team makes compared to how many they’ve attempted. A field goal is a shot that’s worth two or three points, with the exception of free throws.
  • Free Throw Percentage - Measures how many free throws are scored compared to how many free throws have been attempted.
  • Turnover Differential - Measures a team’s total turnovers to those of their opponents. A team who commits fewer turnovers than their opponents has a positive differential. A team who commits more turnovers than their opponents has a negative differential.
  • Rebounding Margin - Measures a team’s total rebounds compared to the total rebounds of their opponents.

Basketball Bet Markets we will use

Most operators offer a plethora of NBA betting markets. While our NBA predictions cover a wide range of markets as we search for betting value, the most common include the following.

🏆 Outright Winner Bets

One of the simplest ways to bet on the NBA is to bet on who you think will win the NBA Finals. Odds on who will make the Playoffs, as well as NBA Finals odds, are available throughout the regular season.

💰 Moneyline

The easiest way to bet on an individual NBA game is to bet on Moneyline odds. With this market, you’re simply betting on which basketball team will win the game in question.

⚖️ Handicap Bets

Handicap betting is incredibly popular in a number of different sports. In basketball, a handicap bet will give a hypothetical points advantage or disadvantage to either team. There are also Alternative Handicap markets, but the standard market is usually set to 10 points.

🏀 Total Points

Another popular market is the Total Points Over/Under market. With this bet, you’re wagering on how many points will be scored in a particular game, over or under a specified amount.

📈 Winning Margin

A market that can offer value is the Winning Margin market. With this bet, you’re betting on how many points a specific NBA team will win by. This market is typically set in bands, such as Winning Margin 1-10 points, or Winning Margin 11-20 points. The higher the margin, the longer the odds tend to be.

NBA Awards Voting

🏆 Most Valuable Player (Michael Jordan Trophy)

NBA’s Most Valuable Player award is a hugely prestigious title given to the best performing player of the season. It was previously called the Maurice Podoloff Trophy but since 2021 has been named after the legendary Michael Jordan, who was MVP on five occasions.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds the record for most MVP titles, with six MVP awards to his name. Three were earned when Abdul-Jabbar was playing for Milwaukee Bucks, and three during his time at Los Angeles Lakers.

The current MVP is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who plays Point Guard for Oklahoma City Thunder.

🎯 Rookie of the Year (Wilt Chamberlain Trophy)

The Wilt Chamberlain Trophy is awarded to the best player who is playing his first season in the NBA. Golden State Warriors hold the record for most Rookie wins, with six rookies winning this award while playing for the Warriors (this record includes the years Golden State were known as Philadelphia Warriors and San Francisco Warriors).

The current Rookie of the Year is Stephon Castle, who plays Guard for San Antonio Spurs.

🛡️ Defensive Player of the Year (Hakeem Olajuwon Trophy)

This award is given to the best defensive player of the season. Named after Hakeem Olajuwon, who won the award twice while playing for Houston Rockets, the Defensive Player of the Year record holder belongs to three different players. Dikembe Mutombo, Rudy Gobert and Ben Wallace all won this award on four occasions.

The current holder of the Hakeem Olajuwon Trophy is Evan Mobley, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

🔁 Sixth Man of the Year (John Havlicek Trophy)

The Sixth Man of the Year award is given to the best performer who started the game as a substitute. The trophy is named after John Havlicek, who won the NBA on eight occasions. Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford share the record for most Sixth Man awards, with three each.

The most recent Sixth Man award winner is Payton Pritchard, who plays as Point Guard for Boston Celtics.

📈 Most Improved Player (George Mikan Trophy)

Named after the five-time NBA Champion, the George Mikan Trophy is awarded to the player who has improved the most from their previous season. Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic share the record for the most players to have received this award, with five players each.

The most recent George Mikan Trophy winner is Dyson Daniels, who plays Guard for Atlanta Hawks.

FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions

  • 💡 What is the best way to bet on the NBA?

The easiest way to bet on NBA games is to bet on the Money Line market. With this market, you’re simply betting on which NBA team will win the game in question. Once you learn more about how the NBA works and the teams within it, you might then decide to look at more exotic markets.

  • 💡 Can I make money constantly with NBA betting?

Winning any bet is tough to do, which is why we recommend you conduct thorough research before you place any bet. While it’s possible to make money betting on NBA games, it shouldn’t be seen as a way to make an income. Only bet what you can comfortably afford to lose.

  • 💡 Why do odds change before an NBA match?

Betting volume is a key reason why odds fluctuate before a game. If a particular market has received a large volume of bets, an operator is likely to shorten those odds. Other reasons why odds change include late changes to team line ups and player withdrawal.

  • 💡 Should I follow one NBA tipster or multiple?

We highly recommend that you follow more than one of our expert NBA tipsters. By doing so, you can learn how each tipster approaches their betting, as well as increasing your knowledge of individual NBA teams and fixtures.
