Free Rugby Predictions for Today

Below, you’ll find our latest rugby betting tips and predictions provided by our experts for the latest matches and competitions. All of our tips have been prepared by researching and analysing each detail that could have an impact on how a match might play out, including team form, player availability and head to head records.

How We Prepare Our Rugby Predictions

Whichever sport you like to bet on, it’s vital that you conduct thorough research into the match or event you’re looking at. There are many factors that can have a huge impact on potential events in a rugby match. For each rugby prediction our experts provide, we consider each of these factors. For example, we look at player availability, injuries, head to head records and the importance of the fixture for both teams.

In addition to specific potential match events, we also examine the quality of rugby odds available from betting sites. One of the most important factors in betting successfully is to find odds that represent value. When we research into our bets, we give ourselves the best chance of finding the edge over the bookmaker by finding odds that are bigger than what they potentially should be.

    Updated Data and Statistics

Researching the latest rugby data and statistics can help us spot where betting value may lie. Our tipsters are constantly updating their knowledge base, staying up to date with the latest results, team form and player performance to build their predictions from.

In particular, we look at how many points a team has scored and conceded in recent matches. We look at how these points have been scored - how many tries, how many conversions, how many drop goals and how many penalty kicks. In addition, we look at average possession a team has had in recent fixtures, such as sequential possession, which is the number of repeated possessions a team has held, and total possession.

Once we have collected this information, we can then begin to build our prediction.

    Player Performance

Team and player form is another key factor we analyse for our rugby betting tips. For example, a player who has had high conversion rates in recent games is more likely to convert successfully in the next fixture.

The aspects we consider when we analyse player performance include their recent records for points and tries scored, along with conversions, penalty kicks taken and scored/missed and drop goals. We also think about how many yellow and red cards they’ve received in recent fixtures.

    Odds Analysis and Value Bets

As we discussed earlier, finding betting value is one of the most important aspects in successful betting. When we prepare our tips, we analyse the odds available from our top betting sites, those that are competitive as well as offering value.

Our rugby predictions aren’t just based on standard Match Winner bets. As well as this market, you’ll find tips and predictions for markets such as Handicap, Total Points Over/Under and Tryscorer.

Bet Types and Markets in our Rugby Predictions

As both rugby league and rugby union are hugely popular sports, you’ll find odds and markets at online bookmakers across the globe. You’ll find odds available for a massive range of matches and competitions for both men’s and women’s rugby. All major leagues are covered by most operators, with the best sites for rugby betting offering markets on minor leagues and events too.

While there’s a wide range of markets bettors can choose from, the most popular include the following.

🏆 Outright Winner Bets

One of the simplest ways to bet on rugby is to bet on who you think will win a particular tournament or competition. There’s plenty of opportunities to bet on this market, with most operators offering Outright Winner bets on tournaments taking place all year round.

🏉 Match Winner Bets

Another popular way to bet on rugby is to wager on which team will win a specific match. Again, almost every bookmaker you’ll find will offer Match Winner odds on fixtures taking place across the globe.

⚖️ Handicap Bets

The Handicap market is popular in many different sports. For rugby, you can bet on a variety of Handicap markets, such as 2-Way, 3-Way and Match Result Handicaps.

🎯 Tryscorer

Betting on a particular player to score a try can offer great value. The best rugby betting sites offer a variety of options within the Tryscorer market, including First Tryscorer, Anytime Tryscorer and To Score Try And Win.

📊 Winning Margin

A market that can often present greater value than a standard Match Winner bet is the Winning Margin market. This market can be particularly useful if you expect one team to comfortably beat their opponents, in other words, win by a large margin.

What is the difference between Rugby Union and Rugby League

There are some similarities, but many differences between the two codes of the game of rugby. Both games have 80 minutes of standard play, and in both games the player must throw the ball backwards. However, rugby league tends to play a lot faster than a Union game, with the time that the ball is in play, generally speaking, is much longer.

The number of players per team also differs - in League rugby each team starts with 13 players, with Union sides featuring 15 players. Points scoring is different, too, with a Try in Union worth five points, whereas in League a Try is worth four.

Take a look at the table below for the key differences between the two codes.
