St Pauli come from two very important wins that lifted them above the relegation line. Last week they achieved a remarkable away win at Hoffenheim with an outstanding performance from their goalkeeper, while the hosts produced more than three expected goals according to statistics. They have been scoring regularly for some time, but defensively they had not kept a clean sheet for almost two months before the Hoffenheim match.

Eintracht recently changed coach with Riera taking charge and the team immediately responding with victories that brought them into the top seven. I expect them to approach the match in Hamburg aiming for goals and the win, since draws do not help their push to climb further up the table. They certainly have strong attacking quality, but their defense has been an issue throughout the season and they will likely allow opportunities for the hosts as well.
