User Experience

The 20Bet site is rather plain to look at, but the lack of gimmicks and over-the-top visuals actually make the user experience reasonably pleasurable. When you login to your account and access the Sports Betting tab, you’ll find the middle of your screen features Boosted Odds options and major upcoming fixtures. On the very left hand side of the screen, you’ll find a rather thin column featuring all sports available to bet on. To the right of that you’ll find access to Top Championships, featuring the most popular leagues and competitions. On the right hand side is your bet slip. Once you click on a set of odds, these will automatically be added here.

Above the Top Championships section, you’ll find a Search bar. Here, enter the name of the team or competition you want to bet on and all relevant fixtures will be displayed.

Bettors can also add to their Favourites. To do this, click on the Star icon next to the events you’re looking to bet on. Your selections will then be added to the Favourites tab.

Loading times are very quick on the 20Bet site. Navigating through the site is really easy, it takes less than a second for the next page to load up.

This is the same for the Live Betting tab, too. Another aspect we were impressed by is that live streams are automatically broadcast, without the need to toggle or visit a separate tab. Click on the in-play fixture of your choice and, if streaming is available, the live stream will appear above the list of betting markets.

The desktop site works well, despite it hardly being eye-catching. Similarly, the mobile version of the site works equally as well, with a mobile app also available for download. More of this later.

While the 20Bet site isn’t the most visually appealing we’ve come across, this doesn’t mean to say its usability is poor. In fact, quite the opposite, with easy-to-access menus and quick loading times adding to a pleasurable experience.

There’s lots we take into consideration when assessing a site’s usability. As well as navigation and loading times, we also look at how easy it is to make deposits, request withdrawals, place bets and access the customer support team.

We found all of the above aspects easily managed by the 20Bet site. One aspect, though, that was pretty frustrating to use was the Search function. We typed in ‘FC Zurich’ to find odds on upcoming football fixtures featuring this club and instead were presented with France’s Premiere Ligue and NBA games. So, it’s safe to say the Search function doesn’t work too well.

Having said that, it’s a minor issue really as it’s easy to access all sports and events from the menus provided.

There was a little bit of lag using our mobile browser. The app fares a little better in this regard.
