The UEFA Champions League group stage kicks off with a fascinating encounter between Club Brugge KV and a high-flying Lens side on September 8, 2026. Club Brugge, with a league record of 7 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses, enters the tie with somewhat inconsistent form, having secured two wins, one draw, and two losses in their last five outings. Their ability to score, with 32 goals in the league, is evident, but a leaky defence conceding 27 will be a concern against a potent opponent.
Lens, on the other hand, arrives in Belgium brimming with confidence. Their perfect league record of 5 wins from 5 matches, coupled with a stunning five consecutive victories in their recent run, showcases a team in formidable shape. They have netted 17 goals while conceding just 6, highlighting their defensive solidity and attacking efficiency. This match pits Club Brugge's attacking flair against Lens's impeccable form and defensive discipline. Watch for how Brugge's home advantage impacts Lens's momentum and if the French side can maintain their perfect start to the season.
