The UEFA Nations League kicks off for Albania and Belarus on September 26, 2026, with both teams eager to make an early statement. With no prior matches this season, form is an unknown, making this opening fixture a fascinating encounter. Albania will be buoyed by their strong head-to-head record against Belarus, having won their last two meetings, including a thrilling 3-2 victory. This historical advantage, coupled with the home crowd, makes them strong favourites according to the bookmakers, with a 50% win probability.
Belarus, despite being the underdog, will be determined to upset the odds. Their previous encounters suggest they struggle against the Albanians, but a fresh season offers a clean slate. The focus will be on their defensive solidity and ability to contain Albania's attacking threats. The odds suggest a tight affair, with the Under 2.5 goals market favoured. However, Albania's recent 3-2 win indicates there's potential for goals. This match will be a crucial test for both sides as they look to build momentum in the Nations League campaign.
