A tantalizing UEFA Nations League encounter awaits on September 28, 2026, as old rivals Belgium and France lock horns. With both sides yet to register a point in the nascent competition (0W 0D 0L for each), this fixture offers an early opportunity to lay down a marker. Recent head-to-head history heavily favors the reigning world champions, France, who have won four of the last five meetings, including a narrow 2-1 victory in their most recent clash. Belgium will be eager to reverse this trend and demonstrate their pedigree on home soil.
The betting markets reflect France's dominance, with an away win priced at 2.12 and a draw at 3.57, suggesting a tightly contested affair. Belgium, at 2.83, face an uphill battle according to the bookmakers. The "Over 2.5 goals" at 1.75 indicates an expectation of an open game, a narrative supported by their previous 3-2 thriller. Key narratives revolve around whether Belgium can finally overcome their French hoodoo and if France can continue their impressive run against their neighbours. Fans should watch for the tactical battle in midfield and the potency of both teams' attacking lines as they aim to kickstart their Nations League campaign.
