The UEFA Nations League kicks off for Georgia and Ukraine on September 28, 2026, with both sides looking to make an early statement. As this is the first fixture of the campaign, recent form is an unknown, adding an intriguing layer of unpredictability to the encounter. Ukraine enters the match with slightly better odds, reflecting their perceived strength, but Georgia will be eager to leverage home advantage.
Historically, these teams have produced tight contests. Their last two meetings saw a 1-1 draw and a narrow 1-0 victory for Ukraine, suggesting another closely fought battle is on the cards. With both teams starting with a clean slate, the emphasis will be on tactical discipline and seizing early opportunities. The betting market hints at a low-scoring affair, with Under 2.5 goals favoured, indicating a potentially cagey opening to their Nations League campaigns. Fans should watch for which side can impose their will first and dictate the tempo in what promises to be a fascinating Group B opener.
