The UEFA Nations League kicks off for Germany and Serbia on October 1st, 2026, with both sides looking to make an early statement in what promises to be a competitive group. With no prior matches in this campaign, both teams enter this fixture with a clean slate, making form predictions challenging. The win probability suggests a remarkably even contest, with a 50% chance of a draw or a Serbian away victory.
Germany, always a formidable force on home soil, will be keen to assert their dominance from the outset. Their new-look squad, potentially featuring exciting young talent alongside established stars, will be under pressure to deliver. Serbia, known for their physical style and potent attacking options, will fancy their chances of causing an upset. Key narratives will revolve around how each manager sets up their team for this inaugural match – will it be cautious, or will they go for the jugular? Fans should watch for early tactical battles in midfield and how each side handles the pressure of starting a new international campaign. This fixture could set the tone for their Nations League aspirations.
