Popular Schwingen Tournaments to Bet On
Swiss wrestling, native to Switzerland, is a traditional form of wrestling that occurs during the schwing festival, an outdoor event.
Schwingen takes place in a circular space with a diameter of 12 meters, covered with sawdust. Each schwinger wrestles with six other schwingers, and the one with the highest point emerges as the winner. The popular schwing tournament are:
Male Schwing
In this tournament, only able-bodied males are allowed to engage. The “Schwingerhosen,” which are jute shorts with belts, are a must for wrestlers, who otherwise dress in contemporary clothing during the match. The opponents are held, lifted, then thrown to the ground using the belts.
Eidgenössische
In this festival, a schwinger fights with eight instead of six opponents. The competition takes place every three years, with over 280 wrestlers, 380 Hornussers, and 100 stone tossers who take part in the event. Around 51,000 enthusiastic supporters of the Swiss national sport will follow the wrestling competitions in the seven sawdust rings live on-site in the temporary arena specially built for this purpose.
