Newly promoted Aalesund entered the season with the sole objective of staying in the top division. After very mediocre performances in friendlies and the cup, and without the financial ability to strengthen seriously in the transfer market, they were considered from the beginning as one of the bookmakers’ main relegation candidates.

They looked competitive but ineffective at the start of the league campaign, but beginning with the match against the struggling Rosenborg, they started showing a much improved version of themselves. With seven points from their last three matches, they moved out of the bottom two in the standings and, facing an opponent that does not inspire fear, they are priced as favorites at near even odds.

HamKam managed to stay in the division last season and although they lost two of their best players during the transfer window, they aim to finish comfortably away from the relegation battle. They possess a disciplined and well-organized team and, exceeding expectations during these first nine matches, they currently sit 5th in the standings.

Aalesund are in form, but the home win odds flatter them. They are a side that prefers to play on the counterattack and, as favorites here, they will likely have to change their usual style. They are not comfortable playing proactive football.

HamKam are compact and avoid taking major risks in their game. Based on the playing characteristics of both teams, this does not look like a match that will open up. The markets rate the over as a strong favorite around 1.60 odds, leaving value on the well-priced scenario of a low-scoring match.
