Crvena Zvezda vs Bayern: Handicap Betting

After a painful defeat in the EuroLeague derby, Crvena Zvezda got back to winning ways with a more than convincing 100–78 victory over Maccabi. Overall, the Red and Whites played one of their best first quarters in several seasons, scoring 34 points on a fantastic 14/17 shooting from the field, with six made three-pointers and as many as 13 team assists, led by point guard Chris Jones with seven. Zvezda comfortably maintained that first-quarter lead until the final buzzer and recorded their fifth win in Europe’s elite competition.

In the second game of this double-round week, they will face Bayern, who have not started the season well. The Bavarians have only two wins in the first eight rounds, and on Tuesday they suffered their fourth home defeat in as many games. Their biggest problem is defense, which ranks among the worst in the competition in points allowed. Their backcourt is quite weak in that department, as players like Jokubaitis, Obst, Jessup and Washington are not known as strong defenders, and they lack a big man who can properly protect the paint.

I expect Zvezda to get plenty of open three-point looks off kick-out passes, lots of easy points at the rim, and, Ibon Navarro’s trademark, transition running whenever the situation allows. I believe the Red and Whites will continue their upward form and, riding the wave of positive momentum, record another routine EuroLeague win.
