EuroLeague: Dubai vs Valencia 17/04/2026

Dubai, under a new coach and a motivated Musa, seek a chance to extend their hopes

Dubai have made a very strong impression in their debut EuroLeague season, playing attractive and efficient basketball, but they are likely to miss out on the playoffs. A crucial blow came in the previous round with a loss to Anadolu Efes, where they completely underperformed in what was perhaps the most important game of their season. The price of that defeat was the dismissal of head coach Jurica Golemac at the very end of the competition.
Mathematical chances for a play-in spot still exist, but they are minimal — besides beating Valencia, they also need Barcelona to slip up against Bayern, which seems unlikely given that the Spanish side also has strong motivation for a result.
Despite everything, Dubai are expected to put in a solid performance. New head coach Aleksandar Sekulić will make his debut on the bench, while the team will play in Zenica for the first time this season, after hosting previous games in Sarajevo.
One of the key players will be Džanan Musa, who underperformed against Efes, but is well known for thriving in front of a home crowd. In previous games played in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he has been among the standout performers, so he is expected to come out highly motivated this time and take on a leading role.
For Dubai to compete evenly against one of the strongest teams in the competition, they will certainly need a significant offensive contribution from Musa, who could be the key factor in their attempt to extend the season by at least one more game.
