Fenerbahçe have not impressed with their performances early in the new season, with particular issues visible in offensive organization. That’s not too surprising given the large number of new players. After opening wins against Beşiktaş and Virtus, Fenerbahçe suffered a heavy 98–83 loss to Bahçeşehir over the weekend. That game exposed another issue — a lack of defensive presence and rim protection. Marcus Bingham could theoretically fill that role, but he is still sidelined with an injury.

On the other hand, Bayern have looked very strong in their opening games. They followed up their EuroLeague opening win against Hapoel with a dominant 95–61 victory over rivals Alba in the domestic league. It seems they have built a highly competitive team despite a modest budget — one capable of adapting to different styles and posing problems for any opponent in the EuroLeague.

The Bavarians arrive in Istanbul as underdogs, but if they replicate their recent performances, they will certainly have reasons for optimism. Fenerbahçe are still in the adjustment phase with their new roster, and it’s clear it will take time for roles to settle and for the team to reach optimal form. Because of that, I expect Bayern to stay competitive throughout the game, making it difficult for Fenerbahçe to pull away, and the match could remain close until the very end.
