Europa League: Besiktas vs Marseille 17/09/2026
Beşiktaş may have the edge over Olympique de Marseille, but with both sides pointing toward a controlled, low-risk game, the Asian Under 3.0 stands out as the most logical pick.
Betting on Goals
With extremely pricey signings, Besiktas have put together a squad worth close to €300m on paper, but the real task is to actually build a serious team at some point.
With the Italian in the dugout that looks achievable, and their early performances in Europe — plus the away win at Fenerbahce in the league — suggest they’re on the right track.
To reach the League Phase, they had to eliminate Midtjylland, Hradec Kralove and Zalgiris in succession, winning their first five games without even conceding a goal, for a total of 8-0.
Marseille had a grumbling, unhappy summer, were weakened significantly in the transfer market and have started the season with poor results. They come into this on the back of three straight league defeats, failing to score in two of them.
Besiktas have the edge, but the bookmakers have clocked that too. At odds around 1.80, their moneyline doesn’t leave much room to play with. Their form so far, though, doesn’t point to an end-to-end, high-scoring game. The French, where they’re at right now, aren’t expected to take big risks.
We’re going with the Asian Under 3.0, priced close to evens, which needs four or more goals to lose.
