In Heverlee, a suburb of Leuven, Union Saint-Gilloise host Real Sociedad in Matchday 2 of the Europa League League Phase. As a rule, I don’t accept a Belgian side as favourites against a Spanish one. That’s the first thing I’m carrying into this, though always with the form of the teams and the news in mind. Second, this isn’t Union’s real home ground. Third, the Belgians have a lot of absentees, and they’ll have several reserve-team players on the bench. Fourth, Real Sociedad will rotate a bit (up front they’ll be fine, at the back I’ll be saying a prayer), and their defensive organisation has been a problem.

Put all of that on the scales and it still doesn’t make Union favourites, not by a long way. That leaves me room to take the draw along with me, at least half of it.

Real Sociedad +0.25 @ 1.68 (Megapari) is my bet. I like the +0 @ 1.96 as well.
