Premier League: Sunderland vs Leeds 25/10/2026
Given Sunderland’s attacking problems, Leeds’ solid defence and the possible absence of key away players, this is expected to be a tight and physically demanding match with few chances and few goals.
Goals Betting
It was always going to be hard for Sunderland to repeat last season’s excellent campaign, but I doubt even the most pessimistic fans could have predicted that, after seven games, their team would be rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with just four points. The main reasons for this start are a poor attacking output and new signings who have yet to fit into the system, while the added demands of playing in Europe have made the situation even harder, draining the squad’s energy.
Leeds, on the other hand, have made a fairly good start to the new season. They currently sit seventh with ten points, and although they have only two wins, their defence has so far been working well enough to keep the team in the top half of the table.
Based on their performances and results so far, Leeds may be slight favourites for this match, but manager Daniel Farke has some serious headaches ahead of Sunday’s game. According to the latest reports, Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach, both very important players in attack and midfield, are doubtful, as is Okafor, who is also struggling with an injury. There is a strong chance that at least one of them will miss the game, which improves the hosts’ chances of getting a positive result.
Regardless of their status, I expect a very tight match with few chances and few goals. This is a meeting between a team struggling in attack and one of the most defensively solid sides in the league, where small margins, details and a possible moment of individual inspiration could decide the winner. Their two meetings last season produced a total of three goals, and I expect a similar pattern this time.
