Betting on Both Teams to Score

The excellent work being done in Swiss football is clearly reflected in the national team. Consistently competitive in recent years, Switzerland have established themselves as a force in major tournaments, and if they continue on this path, it will not be long before they achieve something truly special. Once again, they have assembled a well-drilled and balanced squad. Compared to previous years, they also look significantly improved in attack. They know how to impose their own style of play but are equally capable of adapting to their opponents when required.

Algeria have not been among the standout teams of the tournament, but neither have they performed poorly. They suffered a comfortable 3-0 defeat to Argentina in their opening match, but then did everything necessary to secure a place in the knockout stage. Given the individual quality of several of their players, they appear capable of raising their level even further as the tournament progresses.

I expect an entertaining match with a good tempo and chances at both ends. I like Switzerland’s chances, especially as they will be playing their second consecutive match in Vancouver and will also have enjoyed three extra days of rest. The combined bet of Switzerland to win and Both Teams to Score looks attractive at odds around 4.50. However, my main selection is something more conservative: the straightforward Both Teams to Score market, available at odds above 1.90.
