Augsburg were battling to avoid relegation but since mid January they have literally transformed themselves. Starting with an away win at Bayern Munich, they produced a record of 8-3-4 and reached the point of fighting for a European spot.

They collected ten points in their last four matches, where they won away at Leverkusen and by a two goal margin (both 3-1) in their two most recent games, away against Werder and at home against Gladbach. In their current condition, they look capable of getting a result in Berlin as well.
