ACB League: Valencia – Bilbao 17/05/2026
Although Valencia already have their minds partially focused on the historic EuroLeague Final Four, they are still facing a serious and potentially very high-scoring matchup against an in-form Bilbao side arriving at Roig Arena with plenty of momentum.
Betting on Total Points
Valencia will play their final game before their historic EuroLeague Final Four appearance in the domestic league against Bilbao. Even though much of their focus is understandably already directed toward Athens and the semifinal clash against Real Madrid, the home team still cannot afford to relax too much, as this is also an extremely important game in the battle for a better position ahead of the ACB League playoffs.
As expected, the quarterfinal series against Panathinaikos was the absolute priority for Pedro Martinez’s team, which somewhat affected their performances in the domestic championship. Valencia have suffered three consecutive defeats in the ACB League and slipped to fifth place in the standings, although they still have a game in hand compared to their direct rivals. Because of that, this matchup comes at a very tricky moment, since another setback could further complicate their situation before the end of the regular season.
On the other hand, Bilbao are arguably enjoying their best season in recent years. The former EuroLeague quarterfinalists are seriously competing for a playoff spot and arrive in Valencia full of confidence after a huge 88–82 victory over Real Madrid. The team looks highly motivated and will certainly try to capitalize on any possible drop in concentration from a Valencia side already thinking about the Final Four.
The first meeting between these two teams this season ended in complete domination by Valencia, who cruised to a 116–72 victory. Bilbao showed almost none of the quality they clearly possess and will undoubtedly have extra motivation to leave a much better impression in the rematch. Still, the playing styles of both teams strongly suggest that we could once again witness a very fast-paced and high-scoring game. Valencia have played at an extremely high tempo throughout the entire season, and once they find their offensive rhythm, games featuring huge point totals become almost routine.
I expect a much more competitive and balanced matchup than the first meeting, with plenty of points and attack-oriented basketball on both sides of the floor.
