Spain La Liga: Valencia vs Rayo Vallecano 14/05/2026
With the relegation battle extremely tight, Valencia and Rayo approach this match cautiously, with both teams not needing to take major risks. Given their low-scoring trends and limited attacking output, a tight game with few goals is expected.
Betting on goals
With three rounds remaining in La Liga, the relegation battle is heating up. Alaves, currently 18th and below the relegation line, have 37 points, while 10th placed Rayo Vallecano sit on 43. There are nine teams separated by only six points. Including 19th placed Levante on 36 points, exactly half of the league is still involved in the survival battle.
Valencia, with 42 points, are in a relatively favorable position. They are five points above the relegation zone and still have several teams below them. Of course they would love to secure survival with a victory, but even a draw would not be a bad result.
One point above them is Rayo, who approach the match with very similar objectives in the standings. Despite their relatively safe position and the fatigue from Conference League matches, they do not seem to be slowing down domestically. At the moment they actually look in slightly better form than their opponents.
Valencia are clearly an under team. Six of their last eight league matches ended under, while they also have 11/17 unders in home games this season. Rayo possess the second worst away attack in the division. Their meetings are traditionally low scoring and, considering the standings, there is little reason for either side to take major risks. There is betting value in the low scoring scenario, especially with odds above 1,90.
