The UEFA Nations League kicks off for Finland and Belarus on September 29, 2026, with both sides looking to make an early statement. With no prior results in this campaign for either nation, this opening fixture presents a clean slate, though recent history slightly favours the hosts. Finland secured a comfortable 2-0 victory in their last encounter, a psychological advantage they will aim to exploit.
The odds reflect this sentiment, with Finland considered strong favourites at 1.79, suggesting a 50% chance of victory. Belarus, priced at 4.2, face an uphill battle. The market for goals is particularly interesting; Under 2.5 goals is heavily favoured at 1.43, indicating expectations of a tight, low-scoring affair. This suggests a cautious approach from both teams, typical of early group stage matches where avoiding defeat is often prioritised. Fans can anticipate a tactical battle, with the first goal potentially proving decisive. All eyes will be on which side can break the deadlock and establish early dominance in the group.
