Latvia host Cyprus in a UEFA Nations League clash on September 28, 2026, with both sides desperate for a positive result. Latvia arrive in dismal form, having secured just one win and two draws from eight matches, scoring only five goals while conceding fifteen. Their recent form is even more concerning, with four losses and a solitary draw in their last five outings. Cyprus, meanwhile, enter the fixture with an entirely clean slate in this campaign, making their current form an unknown quantity. Historical head-to-head suggests a tight affair, with their last encounter ending in a 1-1 stalemate. The bookmakers reflect this evenly matched outlook, with home and away win probabilities almost identical. Given Latvia's struggles in front of goal and Cyprus's unproven attack, an underscoring affair (Under 2.5 goals at 1.55) seems a strong possibility. For Latvia, rediscovering any semblance of defensive solidity will be paramount, while Cyprus will aim to exploit the hosts' fragile confidence and kickstart their Nations League campaign with a much-needed victory.
